UAAP madness (or unmadness)

In my never-ending quest for good tickets to the UAAP finals games, I have become so desperate as to campout at the college athletics office to secure my place as one of those lucky 20 people who get Upperbox A tickets.

I never thought I would actually do this but seeing as my schedule allows me to actually sleep in during tuesdays it seems like one of those make or break things. Right now I’m in Manang’s Kitchen (the small cafeteria outside the college covered courts) blogging my night away trying not to feel alone or scared.

A few questions come to mind… well one.

Why doesn’t the araneta give patron tickets or lowerbox or at least more upper A tickets to the university athletics departments?

Well its gonna be a long night… and it I get really bored I’ll make another vid (though I don’t have the voice to do so). ONE BIG FIGHT! GO ATENEO!

Blog Privacy

If you’re like me, you probably use your laptop for way more than Photoshop, Games, Powerpoints or internet browsing. In the recent months that I’ve owned Anita, she has turned out to probably be the best blogging companion I’ve ever had. My Science and Society teacher, Mrs. Assunta Cuyegkeng that their generation doesn’t understand blogging as a journal is supposed to be your own personal private thoughts but we however spread it for the world to see. Some blogging networks have worked around this by giving users privacy options such as showing posts to a limited number of contacts but that doesn’t insure that whatever you type down doesn’t spread.

My own personal solution to this for people who like the idea of keeping a private journal but aren’t used to handwriting long entries anymore. The solution is MAMP and Wordpress. MAMP gives you an easy way to install MySQL APACHE and PHP for your Mac. Once you have MAMP installed you can then simply create a database for your wordpress and install wordpress. You get to blog and rant but still within the comfort and limits of your computer. Your website should only be accessible from your computer or your home network and with simple changes in the port settings you can require visitors (if you want visitors) to enter a password before being able to view any of part of your blog/site

National respect

I think it was last Monday when I came to school a little bit later than usual and got held up while the national anthem was being played at the university (it usually plays at 8:20 – 8:30 time span). As I was walking from the SEC I noticed my Sci 10: Science and Society teacher, Loyola Schools Vice President Achoot Cuyegkeng behid me at the small island between the two lanes of the parking lot. A car was moving in the right lane and she went down the island, moved infront of the vehicle, place her palm and front the car and halted the car. I have to say it was a little funny seeing a well little woman like herself command a large van to stop but she did have a point . I never knew the whole stopping for the Philippine National Anthem applied to vehicles though.
