I’m not one to usually be vain but I just visited glance and saw that they had updated their blog and added the ACTM’s first GA pictures in.

I didn’t blog about this before but right before leaving for G.theguidon.com relaunch party I was approached by one of glance’s reporters that were at the event to pose for a picture that was to be featured on their fashion article on the ACTM first GA (which had a mafia theme).

I’m not one to actually think a lot about fashion. I usually just try to look nice but I think the ACTM first GA (combined with the G Relaunch) was one of the days where I really decided to mix and match and find something that worked. I didn’t have to look much to find something black and sort of formal since I stocked up a lot of those from latin dancing hahaha.

Blog Privacy

If you’re like me, you probably use your laptop for way more than Photoshop, Games, Powerpoints or internet browsing. In the recent months that I’ve owned Anita, she has turned out to probably be the best blogging companion I’ve ever had. My Science and Society teacher, Mrs. Assunta Cuyegkeng that their generation doesn’t understand blogging as a journal is supposed to be your own personal private thoughts but we however spread it for the world to see. Some blogging networks have worked around this by giving users privacy options such as showing posts to a limited number of contacts but that doesn’t insure that whatever you type down doesn’t spread.

My own personal solution to this for people who like the idea of keeping a private journal but aren’t used to handwriting long entries anymore. The solution is MAMP and WordPress. MAMP gives you an easy way to install MySQL APACHE and PHP for your Mac. Once you have MAMP installed you can then simply create a database for your wordpress and install wordpress. You get to blog and rant but still within the comfort and limits of your computer. Your website should only be accessible from your computer or your home network and with simple changes in the port settings you can require visitors (if you want visitors) to enter a password before being able to view any of part of your blog/site

I just got to love my dad for all the things he tries to make it seem like he understands. I’ve been working from my room a lot since I got my macbook and sometimes I do use the air-conditioning just to control the temperature of my macbook and Magsafe power adapter. One time when the light bulb in my room faded out and my dad came in to take a look he started opening the small windows which were directly facing the neighbors wall. I asked him why he was opening my windows and he said “so the heat from your laptop can exhaust”. I swear my dad can be extremely funny when it comes to electronics sometimes.

As i said in my previous blog, I finally have a laptop and it’s a mac too! I’ve been dreaming of a mac since I was a high school junior and now I finally have one! So guys I want you to meet my macbook, Anita.

Well after talking to my parents last night I finally got them to agree on getting me a macbook. We all agreed that I’ll be getting a laptop soon but the problem is defining what “soon” is for my family cause they usually have problem when it comes to initiative. Today though I finally got them to set up a schedule and on Wednesday afternoon we’ll be buying my white macbook at Trinoma.

We have this little trend at school where we give names to our laptops, since I now have a macbook I have to find a name for it. I thought of a lot of names but I really can’t decide on one. I thought of “Maggie” from The Simpsons because my old desktop PC is named Lisa. I wanted “Phillip” from the Rugrats because if there is a chance I’ll e buying another computer or electronic gadget in the future, I could name it “Lillian”. “Stewie” and “Brian” came from Family Guy because I love their little tandem on that show. What do you guys think? What should I call my laptop? Comment to vote!
