Jerk who killed my dog

Dead dogFor those who looked at my vblog the other day you’d know that Tomo (my japanese spitz whose name is a shortened version of “Tomodachi” meaning friend in Japanese) got ran-over by a car last Wednesday. Actually I don’t think ran-over is enough to describe it… more like the car drove over his face.

It was shocking really, I came up to check my mail and after three minutes my nephews nanny came up to tell me he was dead. Tomo’s face was full of blood, it was evident that he didn’t even stop after hitting my dog. I understand that it was an accident that Tomo shouldn’t have rushed out of the gate like that but , how cruel can you’d just keep driving after hitting a dog like that. He was nice enough to tell the guard at the subdivision gate that he hit a dog and told him to search for the owners. He also told the guard that he’d come by the house of the owners of the dog but he never did and it’s been the third day.

It is getting a little irritating but I’m trying to keep my faith that he’ll show up. A lot of people have been telling me to make him pay well partially I do want that but it’s not that a big deal because:

  • It’s hard to put a price on Tomo
  • It wasn’t all his fault
  • He’s the head of the subdivision home owners association

but i am pissed that he didn’t show up like he said. The most that I really want right now is an apology and an explanation as to why he never stopped. I don’t think it was impossible for him not to see Tomo as it was a straight street not a corner and Tomo was white as snow, he pops out against the asphalt and grass. The only “excuse” he gave the guard is that he’s on a hurry which isn’t really an excuse for cruelly driving over a canine’s head without stopping.

Poor Yukina (Tomo’s daughter) she hasn’t been her normal energetic self since Wednesday. I’m sure she knows why her dad wasn’t moving or mad at her for buzzing around him…

I really don’t like how my dad is handling this as well. He is pumping out the excuse that it was Tomo’s fault and all that jazz but the thing is we understand that part already. He once commented that the guy might even sue us if the dog dented his car which is impossible since the guy drove over my dogs head. he just doesn’t want a lot of hullabaloo about this thought it is evident that he’s annoyed by the guy as well.

I don’t understand why that guy is being such a jerk. I’m sure he knows by now whose dog he ran over and I’m sure he understands that being the head of the home owner’s association everyone knows who he is. I had this weird idea a while back to freak him out by showing up across his house and starring at him everyday until he notices me… maybe I should go through with it.

Ugh, that is just.. so mean. I get if people think that if it’s Tomo’s fault, but..

That guy that drove by him without stopping. That jerk! I’m not completely the animal lover either, but, what if YOU were the one that got driven over? I’m pretty sure it would be nice if you wouldn’t continue smashing my head even more. For one: you could feel if your car moves, as something is on the ground and the street is smooth.

And not arriving to apologize or whatever he needs to do– that’s just rude. D: Ugh.

I’m really sorry for your loss. I’ve lost a couple dogs to drivers who didn’t stop, either. It’s heart wrenching. :(

I’m so sorry about Tomo :( I really hope the guy comes by to express his regrets, it really is so irresponsible and cruel that he hasn’t already. It’s always painful losing a pet, but I hope you and Yukina feel better again soon!

That is so sad that your dog was ran over.I think they should have more penalties or something for people who hit animals and such.

Poor Tomo! I’m very sorry. Maybe it would be best to write a letter to the guy who did it, or go to his house and have a face to face chat to sort things out. It’s really frustrating when people do a hit and run like that.

I’m really sorry to hear about poor Tomo. I hope that wherever he is now, he’s in no more pain.
How rude of that guy to lie and say he’d visited you when he hadn’t. What a complete tosser… I hope he comes to his senses and apologises, and tries to make up for what he did to your dog. Some people’s cruelty astounds me, really.

I know how you feel. I live out in the country and drunk jerks think it’s fun to actually swerve off the road and try to hit dogs.
