Jason Castro finally bites the dust

Jason was eliminated on Rock and Roll nightI decided write about AI after the result show instead of the performances this week just to change it up a bit. As my dad and I expected, Jason Castro said good bye to the Hollywood stage this week after a (lets be honest) struggling performance of “I shot the Sheriff” by Bob Marley. Jason was actually one of my favorite contestants during the start of the season but eventually I lost faith in him.

I don’t really agree with the common notion that Jason didn’t really want to be there but I do believe that he just didn’t try enough. His reaction to the judges, “I was thinking Bob Marley” somehow made really uneasy about he was treating the competition. He was really a unique contestant but the problem I guess comes with how unfamiliar he was with the singing competition.

As for my rants and raves from last night’s performances, Syesha definitely pulled through. Let’s face it, the odds we’re practically against her with half the world voting for Archuleta and the other half choosing between Jason and Cook. I loved Syesha’s performance of Proud Mary, it was definetly entertaining a lot like her performance of “One Rock and Roll too Many”.

Cook seemed to be uneasy last night but he was still really good as usual and David Archuleta once again stole the show last night with both his performances.

I did see one amusing pattern in last night’s performance. It seems that the contestants we’re singing song’s previous eliminated contestants from this season had performed. Anybody remember Josiah Leming?

And who could forget Danny Noriega

yeah, castro got the boot. ah well… it was meant to be anyway. XP i don’t know about you but compared to everyone else his songs have been so mediocre. i actually like sayesha now… she’s very improved, though i don’t think she’ll be the next american idol. haha obviously it’s a tie between cook and archuleta but frankly i want cook to win. :P archuleta’s a good singer, granted, but his performances are so forgettable compared to cook, whose performances like “always be my baby” are already cult hits, at least on multiply XP

and gah… josiah leming! dude that boy SHOULD have been in the top 10. i liked his style kaso nga lang yung problema niya was that he was too flaky. the reason he got eliminated was not because he got cocky. it was because he got nervous. his rendition of “stand by me” was ruined because of lack of sleep and paranoia. with the band or without he still would have sucked simply because he got cold feet. well at least he’s getting a record deal. hee. XD

I haven’t been following the show, and I didn’t even know there was a new season out already! ^_^ But I’m glad you are enjoying every moment of it. Wow… the two videos that you posted, very good singers… are they still in the competition? I hope so because they are both very talented!
