Not a freshman anymore

After getting my new SY 2008-2009 last Friday, it finally hit me that I wasn’t a college freshman anymore. It was kind of weird looking at that new id card that had a red (color designated to sophomores) color coded sticker instead of green (color designated to freshmen). It’s actually been a whole school year since I shaved my head and walked in late at the freshman Orsem.

But, was I really an Ateneo Freshman? Lets make a checklist.

  1. Hung out at the Zen Garden during the start of the year: yes
  2. Move around campus in a pack: no
  3. Didn’t know what Room TBA was: no
  4. Got lost in campus: no

Ok so those are quite superficial things. I just sort of got thinking cause when people first met me during he second semester last year they thought I was junior or a sophomore but that’s probably because I’m 18 unlike a percentage of my batch.

Going back to the new ID, I think I like the new id better since my picture actually looks like me now. I didn’t have a new picture taken, I chose to use the picture they took of me last year but the reason that it looks like me more now is because I have a hair now. I had my picture taken last year before I shaved my head and now I’ve got my hair back! YAY! One new thing they added this year is that the ID card actually has your birthdate on it. This was done to prevent the bars outside of school to sell liquor to minors but that also means I don’t need a driver’s license to go into a bar anymore (my dad has a thing with me driving).

i never noticed why they always chose red for sophomores.

ok, sure, i can understand green- it’s a freshman color. fresh = green.
the senior color is just as understandable. royal blue = ateneo’s color = becoming a full-fledged atenean
junior color, sige… light blue = close enough to royal blue = close enough to becoming a true atenean

    … but RED for SOPHOMORES?

    ???
